AEMEE CONFERENCE 2016

Sustainable Indigenous Businesses and Communities
– Lead the Way to Closing the Gap

The 2016 AEMEE annual conference will be held in Canberra, ACT on the 24th and 25th August 2016.

 

The Board of AEMEE is expecting to hold another exciting and informative conference this year. We are expecting strong representation from Aboriginal people in business, the resource sector, Government and International delegates.

Wednesday, 24 August 2016 – “Resilience through Innovation”

AEMEE 2012

The 2012 AEMEE annual conference was held in Alice Springs in the Northern Territory on the 25th and 26th October 2012, at the Crowne Plaza.

AEMEE 2011

27-28 October 2011

The 2011 AEMEE annual conference was held this year in Mackay in Queensland on the 27th and 28th October 2011, at the Mackay Entertainment and Convention Centre and again followed after the Mineral Council of Australia’s Sustainable Development Conference.

 

The theme for the AEMEE 2 day conference was Keeping Black Business in the Black and structured as follows:

AEMEE 2010

14-15 October 2010

The 2010 annual Conference was held on Thursday 14 through to Friday 15 October at the Novotel Langley Perth, WA and tied into the theme of  “Cracking the Code on Contracting”

 

Day one focused on “what companies want from Aboriginal contractors and suppliers

 

Day two focused on “what Aboriginal contractors and suppliers need to be successful

AEMEE 2009

29-30 October 2009

The 2009 annual Conference was held on 29 - 30 October 2009 at the Adelaide Convention Centre, South Australia and tied into the theme of "Out of the Shadows - Aboriginal Business in the Spotlight".  The Conference program featured sessions on:

AEMEE 2008

The Aboriginal Enterprises in Mining Exploration and Energy Conference was held from Thursday 18 - Friday 19 September 2008 at the Darwin Convention Centre, Northern Territory. The Conference focus was on the theme "Community Wealth Creation" and explored a range of topics including building Indigenous capacity and economic opportunities to communities and individual businesses.

AEMEE 2007

The 3rd annual Aboriginal Enterprises in Mining and Exploration conference was held on Thursday 1st and Friday 2nd of November at the Cairns Convention Centre. The MCA secretariat worked closely with the steering committee for the conference ensuring that strong linkages were made through presentations, and themes.

 

Professional development workshops were held to help grow Indigenous enterprises engaged in the mining and minerals processing supply chain on Friday 2 November.

The conferences overlapped on Thursday 1 November, and included a joint casual dinner event to welcome delegates to the Aboriginal Enterprises in Mining and Exploration Conference and close the SD conference.
